History
Cosren Shipping Agency (Pty) Ltd commenced trading in October 1995, a joint venture between Cosco Africa (Pty) Ltd and Rennies Ships Agency with Cosco Africa having majority shares.
Cosco is a state owned Company and is one of the largest Shipping companies in the world, with head office in Beijing, China.
Cosco Africa is a subsidiary of the Cosco Group The Cosco group owns and operates nearly 600 ocean going vessels of different types. These Cosco vessels serve over 1100 ports of 150 countries worldwide. In January 2003 Cosco Africa purchased the Rennies share of the joint venture and CosRen shipping Agency is sole owned by Cosco Africa
The Cosren trade route stretches from the Far East- Africa - with fully cellular vessels calling at Durban/Cape Town port weekly (sailing schedule can be viewed on schedule tab for planning purposes).
Cosren is an ISO 9002 company. Cosren comprises of offices in Durban (Head Office), Johannesburg and Cape Town and also sub-agencies in other African ports.
Functions
CosRen is a shipping agency responsible for shipping client's containers. Our routes are focused on the far East. Cosco have a vessel sharing agreement with Evergreen Shipping Line based on slots/tonnage allocations. Cosco contribute two vessels in this service.
